[Solved] How to update a very old installation (1.6.10)?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[Solved] How to update a very old installation (1.6.10)?

Post by mrmut »

Hello all!,

could anyone help me to upgrade a very old installation?

I have several older sites that run on 1.6.x, and would like them to be upgraded.

However, I am not sure what procedure to take - should I go step by step, or something else?

Thanks!

Hello, I tried upgrading, but what happens is that I getting

ERROR: The CGExtensions module could not be found.

What could be the problem?

Try to upload the newest CGExtension module.

Also, if that doesn't solve it, paste your system info, or at least as much data as you can provide (php version, CMSMS current version, modules installed and respective versions, etc). The error you mention can be triggered by a number of different reasons.

Found out the problem!

The config file was messed up, and the server-side paths were wrong! - Feel kind of stupid now not to check that before. :-|

After I fixed the paths, everything work swell.

Thanks a lot for helping me, I appreciate it.

Glad you solved it. Could you please add [Solved] at the beginning of the subject of your 1st post? Thanks!

Make another look to your config.php - current cmsms version needs only a smaller config. For instance all the pathes aren't needed furthermore.
