[Fixed] CMSMS forum not available from some IP addresses

Post by Felix »

I'm currently logged in to the forum using a remote desktop connection to another computer (one of my customers)(they know, so it's ok!) because I can't log into the forum from my normal computer. http:\\forum.cmsmadesimple.org brings up a page that says "Forbidden you don't have permission to access / on this server".

I'm in Australia using a dynamically assigned IP address from Telstra Bigpond Cable so it's a fairly stable IP and seldom changes.

The IP is part of the following address range 120.148.0.0/15. Other Telstra cable customers in my area are also experiencing the same issue.

Calguy has suggested that it might be a proxy server issue, however I'm not connected to a proxy server - just using the standard Telstra DNS servers. (Thanks for the suggestion Calguy!)

Can someone running the forum tell whether my IP is part of an address range that has been blocked by the forum software?

It would seem odd if it is because I can access the PHPBB discussion forum without any problem.

I've looked at all the places we ban IPs and can't find that set, you have more than just that set and none have been banned...

Might want to talk to your ISP...

Thanks,

That's one potential issue eliminated!

Telstra seem to have fixed the problem as it's working now.

Thanks for your help.
