CGSmartImage noembed='1' images not loading

Hey guys, i know there's a thread here http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/bug/view/9458 to a similar issue but the solution did not work for me.

CGSmartImage generates the images in the Cache folder and i noticed it doesn't create a file extension.

when i set my tag to noembed='1' i see the path to the image, that exists, but going to the url will give 404 page not found.

any thoughts?
