[SOLVED] Multiple languages showing on parent page.

Post by genestevo »

Hi Folks,
I'm the admin for a non-profit history site http://historypoints.org/
One of the features of our site is the provision of foreign language translations on child pages (not shown in menus) and accessed via a button link from the parent page (as shown on home page).
One of our regular users is reporting multiple language content showing on the same page.
I've never heard of this before and I can't get the issue to repeat for me. I suspect it's a browser in need of a mend. Before I tell him to re-install Firefox though has anybody else come across this problem? Just don't want to sound like I'm passing the buck.
Cheers.

We need more info... If your pages rely on client-side scripting, like Javascript, to hide and reveal the content of the pages depending on a language choice, a browser issue could be possible, but that does not seem to be the case so I think the problem may be on the site implementation side. However if the client could provide a screen capture of the browser, that could help...

* by the way: English is NOT my native language (sorry for any mistakes...).

Thanks Jo for the advice. I'll ask the person who dealt with the query to ask the user to take a screen shot which, if available, I'll add to the post. I've already asked for the user to told to try the same pages in IE etc but no reply yet.
Thanks again Jo for your help.

Thanks folks for taking the time to review my question.
Turns out to be failure to comunicate.
User was confused by the fact that doing what he believed to be an English language search was bring up result that included reference to foreign language pages.
There was no mixed content on a single page.
Sorry, and thanks.
