(Solved) Extensions?modules loses GUI
Can someone please tell me why I am seeing this when I click on Modules?
Which also doesn't work properly. Text is black, same colour as back ground. I can't uninstall chat either.
TBH I'm getting fed up now. I've been using cmsms as opposed to wordpress and joomla and have gotten further than those mentioned, but I keep coming across problem after problem and not really finding solutions.
I've bought cmsmadesimpe for beginners but that doesn't deal with the issues I have been having.
But if I could find help with this it would go some way to redeem my faith in cmsms.
I've lost the GUI following installation of Chatmadesimple and Ajax.Which also doesn't work properly. Text is black, same colour as back ground. I can't uninstall chat either.

Re: Extensions?modules loses GUI
Chat Made Simple hasn't been updated since 2010, so it isn't a good idea to use that module.
Re: Extensions?modules loses GUI
You can uninstall modules by just deleting or renaming the corresponding directories in the modules directory.

I think Jos means 'disable' in stead of 'uninstall'. Deleting or renaming the files would not delete the database entries. However, it will make the admin working again.Jos wrote:You can uninstall modules by just deleting or renaming the corresponding directories in the modules directory.

Hi, there is no module folder for Chat made simple in the Modules directory, I installed it through the CMCMS Module Manager.
Sorry, specs are cmsms 1.11.7.
PhP 5.2.17
Server API (server_api) cgi-fcgi
Server Database (server_db_type) mysql (mysqli)
Server Database Version (server_db_version) Success 5.5.32
Server Software (server_software) apache/2.4.6 (unix)
Server Operating System (server_os) linux 2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.x86_64 on x86_64
Re: Extensions?modules loses GUI
Of course there is a modules folder. It's in the root of the cmsms installation. Locate it via your FTP client or web hosting file manager.
Your PHP version does not meet CMSMS 1.11.7 requirements which will be a problem i.c.m. with several modules!

Sorry my misake for putting it across incorrectly. I was saying there of course is a Modules folder, but no Cat folder. But you know what, (I'm a divvy) before anyone says it. I was looking at my local installations. I just ftp'd and saw the Chat folder in there.velden wrote:Of course there is a modules folder. It's in the root of the cmsms installation. Now anyone reading this can roll their eyes.

I am aware of the php requirements, I will get onto the host about that.

Re: Extensions?modules loses GUI
So as you can see I got rid of Chat module by renaming the folder (for now). However as you can see I still don't have the CMSMS UI, just the modules listed on a html page, or php whichever way you look at it. How coud I have lost it?
Yesterday I uploaded .htaccess yesterday and modified the config.ph to allow pretty urls. I had to use step 2 in the documentation as step 1 lost me the whole site to 404.
Up until then I had the modules UI, to the best of my knowledge, since I only noticed today when I wen to uninsall Chat.

I've just switched php version to 5.3 and now I have the module UI back. Yippeee. Thanks ever so much.
Now, pray tell, how do I mark this as solved??
