What is the purpose of the {edit} tag? Does anyone use it?

i used it once, it only works if you are logged in and it only takes you to the Content » Pages » Edit Page: yourpage interface, not much use unless you want a quick way to look at a page then edit it :..

I use it on all my sites. It's bluddy brilliant.

Basically I insert it at the head of my templates so that when I'm logged in I can edit pages on-th-fly while browsing the site.

Very handy for all those pesky typos you pick up while browsing.

I always used to browse with 2 tabs open :) One for my site, and one for my CMS... This is useful, I never knew this tag existed!

But once you close the application, doesn't it log you out?
