Help! All pages generating 404 errors :( [SOLVED]

Hi,

Website was working fine till we updated a module that required PHP 5.3+ and had to restore from a backup.

We did a backup when upgrading from 1.9 -> 1.11.7 (with a couple hops), but now this restore is just giving us 404 errors on all links.

Please help! The config page and .htaccess are both the same - nothing has changed - having a panic!

Did you try to clear the cache after restoring?

Also, the backup was a full backup (database and files)?
Rather than having to ask one question at the time, you could provide as much pertinent info as possible.

Hi yes I did both. It was working. I did the backup, now the restored versions are giving me these 404's.

You still didn't post your system info etc. as JoMorg asked and a more detailed explanation of what you did step by step would really help...

Hi guys, thanks for your input, I've resolved this now -- there was a weird issue with the site running in the default application pool in IIS not being able to read the directories. Once I'd switched the security to the app worker user for that website, it worked again.

Have also updated PHP to 5.4.14 for CMSMS so hopefully can update all my modules without the site falling over again!
