Is this part of CMS made simple? I can't find how to turn this option on?

No, there is no out-of-the-box feature that allow you to do that. This as been discussed many times in the past and a search will reveal a few posts about this.
One of the most relevant ones, for me, is this one.

I don't know about the other one but from my understanding you have to be logged into the admin/back-end in WP to be able to edit on the front-end...

There was a tag for that once. But it couldnt work like you expected. Lots of content isnt in a content page but is generated by a module lik Products. It can never work as simple as it sounds...
