By googling I found that that script is an ad-ware that gets installed on browsers. I believe it was already installed, before you tried Firebug, which, as long as you download from the official sites, shouldn't be contaminated. It's a trusted tool for most web-designers and developers. So that code is inserted on your browser, but is not on your site (...yet)

Code: Select all

Looks like it's trying to insert spyware HTML code into the website. What in the world is Coupon Drop Down? Like if I were to copy the HTML it's producing, fix it but forget to take those coupon html links out, next thing I know I have advertising on the website. Maybe i'm understanding the add-on wrong...
It looks like an add-on causing that indeed, but I doubt that Firebug does that. Firebug only shows you how the page is rendered into firefox. Probably another addon in your browser is showing ads in the pages you visit.

dorlow, that's a whole other discussion. I would suggest not to go for the alleged-spyware-discussion.

I fully trust Firebug as an add-on.

Please focus on fixing the erroneous html code and get that footer stick to the bottom.

I just ran Malwarebytes on my PC and it came back with one entry for PUP.Optional.Somoto and it's just in one file in my Downloads. Doesn't appear to be in memory. I doubt that file is what's causing HTML to be injected in the Firefox extension.

Ok, I went through those links. The coupon program wasn't installed in my add-remove programs, but it was an add-in in Firefox. Not in IE or Chrome. It's almost like I downloaded a version of Firefox that came with it or somehow it installed with that firebug extension. But none the less, I uninstalled it from Firefox now.
