Can't expand page sections

Hi,

In the admin panel I can't expand my sections in the page view. Not by clicking on the left hand blue triangle or the expand all sections button.

I can still edit the pages I can see, and change the order of pages using the reorder button but not using the move arrows.

Have cleared cache, tried different computers and browsers.

Have taken a look at thread but still no closer to a solution, have tried uploading the checksum file but just receive an error message:

No files were scanned during the verification process (maybe the file is invalid) 49 lines with errors

I'm also unable to change the default page, receive dialogue box but page doesn't change.

This is only on current pages section, I can set default templates etc.

What Admin theme do you use?

I was on OneEleven have changed to NCleanGrey but this doesn't resolve the problem.

Haven't had this problem on other sites.

Thinking the best solution will to be reinstall CMSMS?

As the previous posters mentioned I think you have some invalid characters in your page names etc. resulting in javascript errors.

In order to narrow this down you will need to:
a: validate the html of the content list page
(depending on the admin theme you are using it should validate except for a few errors about using 'cellspacing' attributes on tables, and charset attributes on script tags.

b: check for javascript errors.

Have validated page HTML and validates OK.

Switched show script errors on in IE, clicking on the expand button gives the following error:

Access is denied. xajax_core.js, line 379 character 256

If I click on ignore errors the sections expand.

I assume IE, but would like to know version of it plus OS.

Then again: you can check the html and validate that, that's not the point.

Thanks.. The XML response was malformed.. There seems to have been some non-safe invisible control character in a page's title. I re-typed it, and everything works fine. Explains why 'collapse' works... The title doesn't exist in the XML.

You need a web inspector like Firefox with Firebug to find such problems.

Of course you could start with another browser like Firefox to check whether the problem still occurs.
