Products - Display item categories from a specific hierarchy

Maybe it's a long shot, but is it possible to display item categories from a specific hierarchy?

If i use {Products hierarchy='Hierarchy A'} i get:

Item A
Item B
etc.

But instead i want:

Category A
Category B
etc.

If i use {Products action="categorylist"} i get all categories regardless of hierarchy and i don't want that!

Can it be done and how? Or is it a lost cause?
