Hi
I've been ask to upgrade a website currently running 1.6.6 to the latest and greatest.
So, after carefully reading the upgrade path defined in the documentation, I went ahead and install 1.7 over 1.6.6. The install didn't report any problem, but that doesn't mean I do not have problem
In fact, the main page is missing a lot of stuff, so I taught about template, but when I look at the "Pages" in the admin section, all my pages do not have "name" anymore.
I did look at the content of the original website and I think I have found why, but do not know what to do.
The original version is using a tool to enable multilang. The tool seem to be written by someone named Alberto Benati. I do not see any "mle" stuff after the upgrade, so I guess this is the issue.
Anyone would know how I could recover the page name. When I use to edit those, I had a section with the lang selection, this is not there anymore. It seem that I only have the english pages, and not the french one.
I do not want to rewrite the site, so any would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
Oh and by the way, I have a backup
Issue while upgrading old version, possibly mle
Re: Issue while upgrading old version, possibly mle
I will partly answer my reply
I did found a website from Alberto Benati where he talk about his MLE hack.
http://www.xme.it/en/cms-mle
There is an uninstall script, but for version 1.6.8. I tried on my 1.6.6 and it did work as expected.
The only problem is I lost all my english pages, and left with the french one. I wonder if there is a way to recover them, any idea. I do not know where to look for them.
I tried to send an email to Alberto, but the email bounce with an "user is over quota" message
Thank

Re: Issue while upgrading old version, possibly mle
As you can read in this thread: the issue of the MLE fork has long been a sore in our side: http://forum.cmsmadesimple.org/viewtopi ... t=mle+fork
You can also search for the keywords "mle fork" in our forum and see the numerous discussions about how to deal with this in an upgrade situation. Try adding numerous different keywords.
Unfortunately, due to the age of your system and that you are using a fork of the package that is dozens of releases behind, and using an unauthorized fork, we cannot continue this discussion.
Unfortunately, it looks as though you are rewriting this website.
