Using AE-Gallery template - can single image display be used

I am creating a page with multple galleries to display various bathroom designs. AE-Gallery is the chosen template display.

Due to the multiple galleries I am hoping to save space and reduce loading time. Is there a way to automatically display just a single image that when clicked will display the underlying AE-Gallery for the viewer? I am trying to save space and know I can do this with other gallery templates. Just wondering if there is some way to do this using AE-Gallery.
