Upgrade Help Needed ASAP - Will Pay

I installed the most current version, but it did not work and so reverted to previous version and am encountering many errors. Need help fixing it ASAP.

did you clear the cache after upgrading?
is your PHP version 5.3 or higher?

I upgraded from a fairly current version--I think 1.10.x (can't remember exactly).

I did clear the cache after upgrading.

PHP is set to version 5.3.
