[SOLVED]FormBuilder - Gmail warning message

Post by blackhawk »

Within CMSMS 1.11.6, I am using FormBuilder 0.7.3.

I have my FormBuilder mailing settings set up with Google Business Email, which is working properly all around. I can do test email messages, etc..

But if a test user fills out the form with a Gmail email address in my e-mail input field and submits the form, I would then receive the e-mail message in my business Gmail account (which is great!), but! with a warning in the message that says....
This message may not have been sent by: xxx@gmail.com Learn more
How can I avoid Gmail from producing this message?

My first guess is that the "from:" field is including the test user's email address. If so, it should only hold the CMSMS administrator's email address. I think this will fix the issue. Is this possible?

The funny thing is that when I go into the Main tab for FormBuilder, the "from:" address for email, is set to my CMSMS administrator email address. So I don't understand how FormBuilder is using the test user's email address in the "from:" field when I view the actual message...

Thanks for any advice!

You probably use the 'Email "From Address" Field' where visitors leave their email address?

The use of that field type will overrule the From address configured elsewhere.

That clears up my confusion - Thank you Velden. I now see that I can also apply email validation on text input fields instead of using an Email From address field.

Thank you so much for that insight!
