[SOLVED] Preferred PHP Version

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

[SOLVED] Preferred PHP Version

Post by postiffm »

I'm running cmsms 1.11.4 with PHP version 5.3.18 on a2hosting.com. The host also offers the option to use PHP v. 5.4.0 or 5.4.8. Which is generally preferred? --Thanks

Update: I changed my host's setting to php version 5.4.8 and have had no problem.

Generally PHP 5.3.2+ is recommended so go for the latest PHP version, it shouldn't do harm, but make sure its the version that the webhost supports and actively maintains.

Oops. Spoke too soon. I had to downgrade to 5.3.23 due to problems. I will wait on upgrading to 5.4.x until later.
