CGSmartImage filter_flip only flipping horizontally

i'm stuck with PHP 5.2 hence my version of CGSmartImage 1.10.1 is now fairly old. however, i check bug reports and couldnt see any reference.

filter_flip=1 should flip image on vertical axis. whatever value I supply to filter_flip, image flips on horizontal axis. Is (was?) this a bug or user error?
