Mails are not sent through cmsmailer module.

Hi,

I wanted to set up smtp for one of my website to send emails. So i tried to use cmsmailer module.

After input all my setting in following manner and sending the test email no mail was received neither in my inbox nor in my spam.

SMTP host name(or IP address): smtp.live.com

Port of SMTP server: 587

From address: abc@xyz.org.au (changed for security)

Password: ******


Please suggest what can be done. My email servers are hosted with Outlook.com

a. test the settings in a mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc)
b. Ask your hosting provider whether it's allowed to SMTP to that port from your server.

Why not just use the the mail-function of cms mailer?

SMTP is one of the harder ones to set up, I always use the sendmail option...
