Hi there
I've installed and got the basics of CMSMS fairly quickly and am very impressed so far. I am wondering which is the best way to go to add a password protected area for members of this particular website I am creating.
The members should be able to login (whether its a username + pwd or just one pwd?) then they will be able to access more pages of the website ie special newsletters, promotions and things like that (nothing that requires high security). It would be ideal if the extra pages just added onto the the navigation system somehow although I'm not sure how this usually works.
From hunting around in the modules section I can see there are two modules which may do the trick but I'm not sure which one (or another one) would be better or more relevant for this use.
CustomContent or PunBB/Protected Pages?
Has anybody used either of these or have any experience with password protecting areas of a website? I have never done this so abit confused.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Aussie Gecko

Please use CustomContent module (it's the successor from ProtectedPages) but it needs FrontendUsers module for login ...Aussie Gecko wrote: CustomContent or PunBB/Protected Pages?

Setting up CMS Mailer on a local server
Hi,
I also read that I need to install CMSMailer to do this. Well, I guess I'll need it for feedback forms anyway ...
I am developing my website on my local Windows PC (WAMP) and wondering whether I can actually setup the feedback forms and all the email related stuff and actually test it so it works and sends emails - even though the website isn't really properly 'online' on the www on a remote host.
With this in mind, I really don't know how to set up the CMS Mailer settings, or do I just leave it all to the very end once it's online my remote hosting service - then use their settings to get it all working?
Can anyone advise what to put in the boxes for the CMSMailer settings (if it will work on a local machine)? I've tried a variety of options but nothing works, this is why I think perhaps it doesn't work til it's 'online' properly...

A similar bundle XAMPP http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html does come bundled with a mail server.
If you give it a try, let us know how it goes as I've never used the mail server myself.

Thank you, and yes - If I try that WAMP with the mail server, I'll let you know - I've bookmarked it for later.
