Can I access my user name?

I have just tried to access a site I own but which I have not accessed for over a year. It never went live and I only ever accessed it a few times in order to upload content. However, I was stopped at the login page today because the user name and password combination I had thought would work does not. I am unable to contact the developer who built the site, but clearly the user name and password I have on record are not correct. Is there a way I can discover the correct details by accessing the raw files using ftp? Any help greatly appreciated. David
