Alaskan climbing site
Hi everyone, I just launched my new site, www.akclimber.com. There are still a lot of things left to do like figure out the pretty urls for the new module and add a bunch of content but I decided to launch ayway. Let me know what you think, I've had very little input on the whole thing so far.

Re: Alaskan climbing site
nice site! might want to tone down the light blue with the white text. kind of hard to read. Where did you get the "Rate this article"? if it is a module that is.
groovy stuff dude!

Re: Alaskan climbing site
I like the site design, but at work I'm stuck with 800x600 screen resolution. The page width means I have to scroll horizontally to see everything.

Re: Alaskan climbing site
Thanks for the tip on the light blue text links, I'll have to change that. On my lcd it's fine but I was curious how others would see it.
I grabbed the star rater from grow collective. they have some sweet stuff. http://www.gr0w.com/articles/code/php_5 ... g_hreview/ If you need help integrating it let me know. It could very easily be made into a plugin, I'm sure. I've got it in a user defined tag {rating} and I can add it into any page I want to have the rating applicable. I have two tags, one for news and the other for pages.
As for the width. I decided on this site to go with a wide fixed layout, so I apologize for the horizontal scroll bars.. I'd like to next work on fluid layout but it didn't play into the cards.
Thanks for the feedback!

SWEEET!

Re: Alaskan climbing site
Really love the design! Start page takes 20.407 sec to load (says Fasterfox) with 1000 kbit/sec broadband.
Keep it up!

ouch on the page load. I've since gone in and removed a ton of crap, down sampled the images and lowered the page size substantially. Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Alaskan climbing site
Has anyone noiced any bizarre behaviour when viewing this site. Specifically random cursors blinking when clicking on images, or the lightbox script acting funny?
Re: Alaskan climbing site
Nope. And I'm half drunk
... navigation in http://www.akclimber.com/climbing/weiner_lake/ is still "strange"...
