Hello, I hope you can help me.
I have recently transfered a CMS Made Simple website, that was custom made. We followed all the steps and it seemed to work fine on my server. The client then started to experience issues trying to edit the site.
We found out the version was 1.6.6, this was clearly outdated. We then attempted to upgrade the version to the current version, it seemed to work, but the web template failed, meaning the site was a scrambled mess.
We restored the site with a lot of effort back to the original version.
The previous host was running outdated PHP, MYSQL, and Apache, hence why the site worked, then the site failed to work on my server since it runs all of the updated software, and version 1.6.6 is very old.
I have very limited skill with the cms systems. I have used joomla in an experimental way.
I really need this website to work, everything we try to update the site, it breaks, or it reverts back to the original version. I hope we can move this forward, it has been very frustrating.
I realize I should have had the skill set to take this on, I thought it would be fairly easy, and I would learn along the way, it is now a burden, and the site really needs to work.
Thank you
Upgrading from very old version
