Advanced use of the File Manager ? ! ?

Post by tgnc.org.uk »

The Editor has been given the setting for Advanced use of the file manager...

The image is what he gets on his screen.

This is needed to allow him to access the back end of CMSMS and manage uploaded files.

Whilst other permissions set appear to be working, this is not.

Is this a bug or a case of I need to make another setting, the settings for this user are as follows.

Allow usage of advanced profile in TinyMCE
Approve News For Frontend Display
Manage All Content
Manage RSS Feeds
Modify Global Content Blocks
Modify Modules
Modify News
Modify User-defined Tags
Remove Global Content Blocks
Advanced usage of the the File Manager module

The wiki does not say much about it at all.

Hi,
I posted this question a few days ago, it was approved, and appeared on this site, and then disappeared an hour later. Why would that be?

Anyway, I use CMSMS 1.9.4.3 on Ubuntu linux 8.04 LTS with PHP 5.2.4.

I am getting the same problem as posted by the previous person who started this thread.

I have a user with Editor privileges and the Editor group has Advanced File Manager access granted, but the File Manager is showing blank.

Any help appreciated.

CMSMS 1.9.4.3 is no longer supported, you would be advised to upgrade.

Edit: if you have php error reporting enabled, look in your php error logs, enable debug in your config.php maybe there is a answer to your problem.
But anyway, best advice is to upgrade.

I appreciate the response.

I'll look at debug output, and look into how to upgrade also.
I presume it's documented somewhere.
