TinyMCE Not working, have tried all other found options

Post by JP3 »

Hi there, to begin...yes I have searched for this topic and found some forums most of which are quite old but I have tried all of their suggestions with not luck.

The TinyMCE editor is not working as my backend or frontend WYSIWYG editor. I only get the plain text editor. When I switch to MicroTiny, it works fine but that is too limited.

Here is my system info: http://screencast.com/t/En8mFvstEr
PHP Information is here: http://screencast.com/t/boLMjIMOT

Here is what I have already verified or done:
- Global Settings and User Setting (admin is my only user) are all set to use TinyMCE
- Permission in module directory is set to 755, not 777
- Uninstalled and reinstalled TinyMCE
- Cleared site cache and browser cache a few times.

I am new to this whole process so don't be shy to talk to my like I am 5 years old and specify which file I need to look for bad code.

Those images don't give enuf system info to be helpful, your system may need the modules and tinyMCE and it's children folders permissions set to 777 and also clear browser and site cache after...

Have you set in your user account which WYSIWIG editor to use?

Try turning on the TinyMCE setting "Save to Static Config" in the second to last tab of the TinyMCE Options.

Also try a different browser, I recently had a client whom couldn't use TinyMCE using IE8 but was fine with MicroTiny.
