Any way to protect just part of a page?

Any way to protect just part of a page?

I'm using the and01 template, and have a javascript image scroller running in a single column of an embedded table. If the customer updates anything close to that column, she breaks the script.

Is there any way to put a "protect" on just that column, so that it is not editable (but the rest of the page is)? Thanks.
