How do I restrict admin user to only edit some pages

Post by lucia22 »

I have a site running with FEU installed and custom content. The client wants an area of the site to be for committee members to view certain pages. I understand how to set this up but they also want some of the committee members to be able to access the admin area, but only with the permission to use File manager to upload documents, then only allow the user to edit only the committee pages, is this possible?

It's quite easy to let backend users only edit some specific pages.

I would suggest creating a new backend group and only give it the permissions needed to upload files and maybe some editor permissions.

Then, on the specific pages they need permissions to, on the option tab under 'Additional Editors' select the newly created group (note that this is a multi-select box where you can use ctrl to select more users/groups. After applying you'll see that your selection is saved. For some people - including myself - this is not obvious the first time)

What I don't like myself is that it seems not te be possible to assign those users a small part of the file system where they can upload their files. It seems to be an all-or-nothing solution as far as I understand. A user-directory would be a nice feature.
