[SOLVED] Multiple Self Registrations using SelfReg Module

Post by emilyshimell »

Hi All

I am currently using the FrontEnd User Module and SelfRegistration Module for customer and partner access into a portal.

I would now like to offer my customers, or prospective customers, a free trial of some software, which they will be required to fill in a selection of contact details, and effectively self register themselves in this part of the website.

It seems that I would use the SelfRegistration Module for this too, but I require different fields, different registration templates, emails, info change templates etc. for this.

I am assuming it is common for a website to have more than one sign up somewhere on their site so I assume this has been tackled before although I can't find anything online... is it possible to duplicate a module or would this cause issues (i.e. as its working with the FEU module, would this need to be duplicated too? How would it know which FEU data to be looking at?) OR is there another way to do this?

The portal sign up uses the features such as the password change email etc. whereas this free trial sign up would really just require a user to enter Name, email, company, website..., click "sign up" and our admin would receive an email with this info and set up the trial for them. Due to this, it does have a slightly different function to what the SelfReg mod is made for (I think) so possibly there is another module suggestion that would be better?

Thanks very much in advance for your help. It's greatly appreciated.

Emily

I have just worked out it would be much easier to use the Form Builder Module to get this data - I think I was making this much more difficult for myself than needed!

Will update if this module doesn't work for what I require.

Thanks anyway!
