Greetings. I've tried three times to install CMSms, but failed. I follow your tutorial as far as:
Step 5. Create an empty file called config.php.
But when I get to step 6, open your browser, etc, I get:
Warning: require_once(/home/finecut/public_html/cmsms/fileloc.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/finecut/public_html/cmsms/index.php on line 23
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/finecut/public_html/cmsms/fileloc.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/finecut/public_html/cmsms/index.php on line 23
Hmmm. 'Config.php' is there. Honestly, machine.
I expect I'm doing something really stupid, but what?
Thank you in advance for any hints, tips, used banknotes, etc.
I'm using a Mac, Mountain Lion and Dreamweaver. The website is:
http://www.finecutfilms.com/cmsms/
... though I see that the warning thing says 'finecut'.
Cheers,
Ol.

I don't know which tutorial or step 5 you refer to, but you might want to check the installation documentation here: http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/installation/requirements

I have no real idea what your exact problem is, but it says some file is missing.
I'd advice you to download CMSMS again, re upload it on your ftp server, and then make the md5 checksum to be sure all files are there at step 1 or 2 (don't remember which one it is).
And check that this fileloc.php is actually there on your FTP

Re: Can't even get started!
I am having a similar issue during an upgrade to 1.103., but I think it has to do with uploading the files via FTP, and some of the files getting skipped or corrupt in the process. It's best to uncompress directly on the server, but my hosting company is current having trouble with that.
(As a long shot, wondering too if the capital "C" in config.php was part of your issue?)

Re: Can't even get started!
Gentle people,
A thousand thanks.
I think I have all the technical stuff:
Apache 2.2
PHP 5.2.17
... but have sent a message to the chap who runs the server to ask.
I've tried changing the case of the config thing, and uploading the files yet again.
If anybody has any inspiration, I'd be a very happy chap.
Cheers,
Ol.

What version of the software are you trying to upload? 1.11.1 or 1.10.3? I received those types of errors on sites that were trying to run 1.9.4.2.
