Upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.11.1 possible?

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Upgrading from 1.4.1 to 1.11.1 possible?

Post by drlandau »

We have an old CMSms site (running on ISP One.com) that seems to run version 1.4.1. The WYSIWYG editor has suddenly (and recently, without any changes I can think of) stopped working (leaving only the plain HTML code editor no matter if I check/or uncheck the checkbox below the editor-window), so I figured I would try an update (about time anyway I suppose :-/ ).

But, is a direct update from 1.4.1 to 1.11.1 at all possible?

Or, do I need to upgrade to 1.5 > 1.6 > 1.7 > 1.8 > 1.9 > 1.10 > 1.11 > 1.11.1? Can I skip any versions? Any good hints for that kind of version-leap?

Any help will be HIGHLY appreciated :)

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Nicolaj

Thanks, I was already using http://wiki.cmsmadesimple.org/index.php ... /Upgrading which seems to be the same.

We're a small houseowners' association and I'm afraid to mess everything up doing that many upgrades, so would anyone be interessested in doing the upgrade-path from 1.4.1 to 1.11.1 for us if they are getting paid? :-\

Thanks again.

Please don't shoot me. I've upgraded cmsms in the past, but this one is a real doozy. the client is using cmsms 0.13, yes your eyes are not lying to you.

The server is running PHP version 5.3.9 and MySQL version 5.1.63-cll there are, would you believe, very few errors on the site and they only show up when i edit a page AND only in admin. cmsms sure had a solid foundation.

I see that one can begin the process of upgrading from 1.4.1 only.

I have archived the old files and have done a backup of the db. If i were to do a clean install of 1.11.1, could i import the content part of the db? this needs to include page content, global content blocks, news. i don't want to loose the stylesheets and templates either.

If so, can anyone provide the sql command to do this from phpMyAdmin?

You can upgrade from 0.13 to 1.11.1 however you will need to do it in steps using the recommended upgrade procedure.

Please read the info on the docs site (link provided earlier in this thread).
