How do I make required field in News expiration date

Hi Folks

I have a client who has 6 members of a content management committee... Headache...!

The Head Honcho asks if it's possible to make the Expiration date in news articles a required field?

I know it is, but don't know how.

Help much appreciated.

Try using a modified editarticle.tpl template with some Javascript to validate the form and make the field required before the form can be submitted.
Place the modified template file into /module_custom/News/templates/editarticle.tpl
