New Admin Theme after upgrade [SOLVED]

I upgraded a 10.3 installation to 1.11 and while functionally everything went ok, I am unable to switch to the new (responsive) admin theme for my existing admin account. I select the "OneEleven" theme, logout and log back in to the same NCleanGrey theme that was in 10.3.

Any advice on how I can switch my existing account to using the new theme?

Did you confirm your choice by pressing the button submit? The theme should then be changed instantly.
There's no need to log out first.

You also have to do it in your personal settings....

Thank you Dr.CSS - I totally forgot about the personal (User) preferences setting - did that and it worked!
