Database choice, mysql or postgresql? Topic is solved
Database choice, mysql or postgresql?
Is there any reason to prefer mysql or postgresql for the database of this cms?
Re: Database choice, mysql or postgresql?
CMSms is a relative young cms so some applications doesn't exist for this. But you can include it from external sources with embed and piiframe tag and IMHO the number of available mysql applications (and users too) is higher than on postgres.
I suggest to choose mysql.

Re: Database choice, mysql or postgresql?
I am new to databases, and was wondering if CMSms is installed on mySQL would there be a problem switching to another database management systerm or are the different databases pretty much just interchangable as far as this CMS?
Re: Database choice, mysql or postgresql?
cyberman,
thanks for the quick reply, that helps in deciding what backend database to use. I once had a developer write something in php/mysql but thanks to this cms, that app is now going to be transistioned in this cms. My webhost already supports mysql and postgresql and the cms is on postgresql now for me. I guess I will just leave CMSms on postgresql unless there is a reason not to??? But if I was starting again I would put it on mysql.
Thanks,
David
