Mod Rewrite / URL / 404 Not Found error

I transferred an existing site to a new server (replacing the old web designer). So until I'm done making changes, the Domain NS settings will not be changed. Please help!

The temporary location of the site is here:

I can see the index.php and admin.php fine. But I cannot get to the remaining pages (that are dynamically created). I keep getting 404 errors:

When it's in a subfolder and you want pretty URLs you need to add the folder to the htaccess file...

You need to set a real domainname in your config.php, not an IP address

My hosting provider helped me fix it. We can't use a domain name as it's in dev. Can't change NS pointer until it's done.

They gave me a dedicated ip and it works now. Thanks for help.
