Hi, I just had a mini heart attack, someone told me the site wasn't working, my menu manager was missing, and when I went into the admin all the pages were gone. My templates and style sheets were there.
The first thing I could think of was to clear the cache-and that worked, it fixed the site. But this has never happened before. Why would this happen? I haven't updated or changed the site in over a week.

In a working site you shouldn't have to manually clear the cache (except for the bug in 1.10.x when installing/upgrading modules).
You should set the system to automatically delete files in the cache that are more than say 20 or 30 days old so that old cruft (like captcha images) and module uploads and other temporary files) don't clutter up a working system.

Ok, thanks calguy. I wish I could explain more what happened, hopefully it won't come up again. I took your suggestion and entered 30 days under remove cache files.

Are you sure your host didn't do some upgrades on server, move up to PHP 5.3 or?...

Hi Dr. CSS, I don't know. It's Godaddy. It's never happened before... I made sure to do a complete backup immediately though.

Look in system info page in admin, to see if the PHP is one of the latest versions, if so you may need to add the time zone to the config.php...

Hi, It says version 5.2.17.
I didn't want to use GoDaddy but that's the service the company has.
