[SOLVED] Gallery and Modules Tutorial

Hi there,
A 2-part question from someone just learning about Modules.

1 Is there a way of seeing the available modules in a demo, so that we can see if they are what I am looking for, rather than having to guess from the wording?

2 Can anyone point me to an easy-to-follow tutorial on Modules, either on You Tube on the net. I'm particularly struggling with how to download and use different templates for the Gallery. All the templates I have automatically downloaded are seeming to display very similarly - am image over a darkened screen. I'm sure it must be more flexible than this. I particulary liked a demo I saw of the AE template, but can't find a button or help explaining how I download this.

No there is no such a demo site. But modules are easy to install so it is best to create your own demo site. Often modules are used on areas the module-developer has not thought to be possible, so a demo-site would cover just 20% of what can be done with a module.

I'm particularly struggling with how to download and use different templates for the Gallery.

Step 1: download Gallery-template from the Forge http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/project/files/726
Step 2: upload/import the xml-file via the Gallery admin templates tab.

Thanks Jos, understood about the demo. I'll create my own site to play with them.

Re the templates, this is going to sound really silly, but how do I download it? For instance I'm trying to download Gallery-tpl-AE-Gallery.xml. I don't see any download link or button. When I click on the link it just gives me a page of code. Do I copy and paste this into a new template? In which case what goes into which box? I also get the message:" This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below." So where do I get the styling from?

Sorry if I'm being dim.
