got folder with work on how to move to new installation?

Post by ladyr0gue »

Basically a little while ago I created a website on cmsms and then somebody asked me to create a joomla site for them. At the time I didn't realise that I could have two cms on xampp so I moved the cmsms folder to my c drive and created the website. Now I have finished and removed the joomla installation I can't figure out where in the old cmsms my work is - I made menus, uploaded images, created a template and some pages. I have tried copying the files over to the fresh install but it didn't seem to work. I could rebuild it I suppose but I was hoping somebody could tell me that I could just copy and replace certain files?

The site is dependent on the DB to have content, templates, style sheets, etc. if you can put the folder back where it was and use the original DB it should work, unless you overwrote the DB with new tables...

thx for your reply-
ah. thought that may be the case. now I'm not entirely sure if I'm right but I think the first time my database was called mysql. this time its called cms. so how would I change which database I'm using? should I reinstall cmsms or is there a way I can fix it without doing so?

I guess the long and the short of it is I've probably overwritten the database and it probably was called cms. as the databases I have don't look like the cms one. I seem to still have the images I 'uploaded' but none of the pages/ templates/ css... silly me
