Missing Tags (for a tag cloud) in standard news module

Post by Tantalus »

Hello,

I'm looking for Tags in Newsmodule (like categories, but as n:m link). So an article should have more than one category. Is this still missing or is there any offical extension to accomplish this task? If there's nothing, whats best practice to extend the news module? I'd like to profit from further updates and not making just a clone of the module before extending it.

Sorry for my question, I've found GCBlog-Module, which implements this feature.

I Thought you meant something like article related tags.

Hello,

yes, I'm looking for article based tags. Multiple categories are not so comfortable as tags, because I've to create them, before adding news. Better would be a textarea where I can create tags while adding the news (this way it works in wordpress, joomla, etc.). If someone knows about a module that support article-/item-tags than it would be great to hear about it.

There was a module, Simpletagging, however marked as stale. I tried it to install it, and found various errors. The Administrators from that module were requested for an update, at least that came to my attention.

In the Dutch forum there is a post to create something similar with UDT, but like I said, I'm kind of stuck.
