Add Inventory management to Products, Cart modules

I am currently setting up a site where we will have once off products and a set number them so I will need some way of managing the stock and displaying how many are left on the front end. Every time someone buys a product the available quantity will be reduced.

Is there any work around to this or will it need to be modification of some of the current modules in Calguys ecommerce suite?
