Changing default entry page in backend admin

I would like to change the default entry page in the backend admin so that instead of immediately displaying the CMS page, it displays the CONTENT page.

I suspect that this will involve changing the core but I'm not sure where to start looking!

This is a user preference in the admin panel. No core changes required!
