Trouble removing TinyMCE on v. 1.9.4

Hello everyone,

I need to run TinyMCE on version 1.9.4 of CMSMS, but having issues. Trying to remove the module and reinstalling it has been a problem. Running on a Linux VPS, latest PHP, SQL, etc.

From the Admin/Modules tab, I clicked on "uninstall" and tried to re-install another version, no luck. Seems that the latest versions are for CMSMS 1.1+, for it gave me an error indicating this.

I then tried to install an older version of TinyMCE, but I get an error message of "this would downgrade the module, installation denied" (or something to this effect).

I even tried removing the TinyMCE directory under Modules, but no luck. Cleared the Admin cache, Browser Cache, but no luck, TinyMCE still remains under the Modules tab in the Admin, and won't let me install an older version.

I'm guessing there's some setting in the DB that still thinks its there, but I have no idea on how to find this.

Any advice?


We have some custom modules on this site, so upgrading the version 1.1+ was not recommended.

Did you uninstall it first, then reinstall it, 1.9.4 is not much different from 1.9.4.3 so I would recommend upgrading to it as it may fix the problem, if you continue to have problems with tiny there is a very good thread in forum on ways to get it to show up...
