Server 500 Error

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Server 500 Error

Post by rochak »

Hello all -

I am a newbie to CMSMS.. I have got my CMSMS installed properly and the default theme is working well (www.mbaxchange.com/cmsms)

However, I tried installing a custom theme that I downloaded from

http://themes.cmsmadesimple.org/index.p ... eturnid=63

Its readme instructions says the below, which I have followed. However, upon using the theme I get the 500 - Internal server error. Can anybody help guide me where the issue could be? thanks

1. Unzip
2. Copy following files to root of your CMS Made Simple installation:
* images folder
* script.js
* style.css
* style.ie6.css
* style.ie7.css
3. Copy-Paste content of file "vertical_menu.html" to new menu template with name "vertical_menu".
4. Copy-Paste content of file "horizontal_menu.html" to new menu template with name "horizontal_menu".

Since the 1.10.0 release, the compatibility is broken with older themes.

Which theme have you installed exactly?

Well, I'm afraid I cant tell you which theme is compatible (they all should be, with just minor changes).

But, I've took some time and tried this particular theme - it works just fine.

But, I haven't used CSS files, as instructed. Instead, I've done things properly, created a new Style and copy/pasted the CSS code in that style.

Then I've created a new folder in 'uploads' folder, called '19011'. In that folder I've put the entire 'images' folder and the 'script.js' file.

After that I've created all the necessary Global content Blocks and everything worked just fine. No 500 error or nothing... If you want, I can send you an exported XML theme file. Just send me an email address in a private message.
