Hello,
I looking for a script to integrate forums like phpbb, simplemachines, punbb with CMSMS. The goal is to make front end user to browse through whole website logging only once on forum or at FEU login form. I've done some search but haven't found anything concrete.
Does anyone have experience in bridging cmsms with these kind of forums ?
I would also appreciate suggestions about the most friendly type of forum to write my own bridge.
CMSMS forum integration
Re: CMSMS forum integration
I did my own attempt with SMF forums (I quite like it), and, sync with FEU is possible. I ended up put that aside as a solution because it would made me have to support two different template systems, and sessions weren't easy to keep in sync. It's doable though!
I ended up giving a shot at bringing an old Forums module back to life.

Re: CMSMS forum integration
I'm using the ForumMadeSimple module. This is a forum module specially made for CMSMS
It doesn't have many options but most advanced forum options like private messages and such can easily be covered by other modules. Also you will probably end up completely redesigning the template, as the default template is very basic.
Yes, it does have some rough edges but it integrates really well with CMSMS.

Just curious: did you manage to get to work with CMSMS 1.10.x?mcDavid wrote:I'm using the ForumMadeSimple module. This is a forum module specially made for CMSMS

Re: CMSMS forum integration
Yup, works fine! I did it through an upgrade though, maybe it could be hard to install on an existing 1.10.x installation... There haven't been updates to the module for a while...Jo Morg wrote:Just curious: did you manage to get to work with CMSMS 1.10.x?mcDavid wrote:I'm using the ForumMadeSimple module. Re: CMSMS forum integration
Now that's weird... lol. Just asking, because I'm forking it to make it compatible with 1.10 'out of the box' and try to add some extra features in a near future. I have found some problems but working my way out of them. As I've never been able to install it in 1.10.x I was wondering why was it working, if it was working at all on the latest CMSMS on your case.
Thanks for your explanation.
