[SOLVED] Problem with TinyMCE?

Post by Parapet »

Update:
Seems it was a server issue. Host setup uses something called fastcgi, also called "PHP Advanced" on their system. I normally have this turned off as CMSMS doesn't like it, seems that somehow it got turned on for this particular site. Once turned off again, the site was back to normal.

==========================

Using:
1.9.4.2 "Faanui"
TinyMCE 2.8.4
---------------
For some reason, in the last week, with no updates to the modules or CMSMS, whenever a page on this one site is edited, all the quotes and apostrophes now have a "\" (backslash) inserted in front of them. This is messing with any code in the page, such as global content blocks, links, and so on, so that they no longer work. I have not been able to discover why this is happening. Even when one updates settings for TinyMCE in the backend, backslashes are being added to any code in the settings (as under Advanced-->Custom Dropdown).

I reset the TinyMCE settings back to the default, then checked them against other sites I have using CMSMS so that the settings are the same, yet this site has a problem when those other sites do not. I reset the meta tags in the database by inputting that code directly so that they show no backslashes, but updating the page content in the database still produces the backslashes in the visible page. The site owner has updated content, but says he never touches settings, so we have no idea why this started.

Clearly the backslash is an escape for code, but this is not needed in the content are, so why is it showing up?

Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?

Thanks in advance!
