Simplest forum software

Post by jasnick »

A client wants a simple forum . Need not have multiple features as long as people can post. I noticed that Forum Made Simple is not being updated? Would that be suitable or should I look for another?

Thanks

Not sure if Dr.CSS was talking about me... :)
However here's where I'm at:

I wasn't sure I could get it working, although at this point I actually managed to do it. I'm still testing if it is stable.

I'm still deciding if I'll just fork it to a new project (I'll have to say that that's where I'm more inclined), or not.
I'll probably fork it, mainly because: I want to loose one of the dependencies that doesn't seems to make sense; I want to take it to a different direction (a bit more functional in my humble opinion).

The idea is to release it as soon as I can have a stable version. I can't give a time-frame right now, but probably a few weeks, maybe less (I can only spare some free-time for the project). The good thing is that I'm having a lot of free-time at the moment, but not sure if it will last much longer ;D

Thanks Jo - I've only ever done one forum for a client and that was a few years ago and I remember it was a bit daunting. I think I used phpBB. So I am looking forward to having a CMSMS developed one.
