Content_Image Tag / Directory Issue

Using the latest and greatest CMSMS install. I have the content_image tag in the template, but it says 'error retrieving files' at the directory I've specified. Oddly, if I change it to 'images' it DOES work. I matched permissions to that folder and still no go.

What does the tag look like?...

Very basic usage of the tag:

{content_image block='Left Side Image' dir='left'}

And, it did work to one directory. I'm wondering it this is tied to another issue I've run into regarding the file manager.

If I'm on a page and through TinyMCE I browse for a directory, I can't get into any directories. And, if I try to add a folder, it doesn't let me.

All permissions are 777.

I'm assuming it's a permissions issue somewhere...
