Date formats in CG Calendar

When using the date formats in CG Calendar (or in CMSms) I find some difficulties.

Could someone provide me a list with the date variables I can use ? f.e.; %d=day, etc. I figured out that it is not the same as the standard PHP.

Correct, not exactly the same as php. CMSms uses smarty for the tags, including the date format.
