Hello,
I'm having trouble with the FileManager when changing the name of an image. When you do this, the name of the corresponding thumbnail is not changed. In FileManager you don't see the thumbnail anymore (because it doesn't exists with the new name).
It can be resolved a bit by going to the Imagemanager and opening the folder the image is in, because apparently a thumbnail with the new name is generated then. When going back to the FileManager, the new thumbnail exists. But the thumbnail with the old name still exists also (I can see in my FTP-programm).
I would like the FileManager to change the name of the thumbnail immediately, as I change the name of the image. What can I do, to make this work?
(I'm running CMS Made Simple 1.10.2 and FileManager 1.2.0)
Changing name of image doesn't change name of thumbnail
Re: Changing name of image doesn't change name of thumbnail
Sorry, that's not how it works, you can set it to show the thumb_ images in settings then change it yourself, when you go to image manager it just makes a new thumb_ image...
Re: Changing name of image doesn't change name of thumbnail
But if you change the name of an image it seems most logic as the name of the thumbnail (if it exists) is changed too. With changing the name of an image and not of the thumbnail, you end up with thumbnails with no images belonging to it. It's kind of messy.
Re: Changing name of image doesn't change name of thumbnail
Only after looking over and over again I now finally understand what you mean. In FileManager one (only if you are logged in as Administrator) can set the thumbnails to NOT showing, and in that case you will see the filenames of both the images AND the thumbnails. In that way you can change the imagename and the thumbnailname.
But still... for my client it would be the most logic if the thumbnail-pictures in the FileManager are shown, and if he only has to change the name for the image once. Isn't this something that can be built-in pretty easy?
I would appreciate it!

Re: Changing name of image doesn't change name of thumbnail
Use Image Manager if you want new thumb with new name, using it will make a new image with new name, leaving the old one (image and thumb) in place, unchanged, and will also create a new thumb image for it...
CMSMS only makes thumbnails of images if you open an image in Image Manager or Albums or one of the other modules that utilizes Image Managers 'make thumbnail' abilities...
