Products - Filter hierarchy item based on a custom field

Hi,

This is a problem that might be something simple but is driving me mad.

I currently have a website set up using the products module as a business directory with 8 hierarchies and then each of these will have sub hierarchies.

EG
Hierarchy 1
->Hierarchy 1.1
->Hierarchy 1.2
->Hierarchy 1.3
Hierarchy 2
->Hierarchy 2.1
->Hierarchy 2.2
->Hierarchy 2.3
Hierarchy 3
Hierarchy 4
Hierarchy 5

I also have a custom field set up which is for location so what I want to be able to do is let someone that is in hierarchy 1.2 be able to click on a specific location which will show them just the businesses in that location under the hierarchy 1.2.

Is this possible? I've spend over a week on it now and I cant afford to spend any more time on it.
