Installing module via XML file

I'm trying to install CGExtensions-1.27.1 via XML file (my hosting provider doesn't allow me to install through Module Manager) I try to upload the file but get this:
Error parsing XML file. Please make sure you are uploading a .xml file and not a .tar.gz or zip file.
Yes, it is a .xml file so what's going on? This has worked with other modules, so is it a problem with CMSMS or CGExtensions-1.27.1? Or something I'm doing?

CMS 1.10.1 ask me always, for all modules, and I go on and works

You might want to check your system information for the Maximum Post Size and the Maximum Upload Size

I get that as well for all versions of CGExtensions.
