You will have to excuse me but my level of competence is slightly below beginner. We have a website for my son, a professional cyclist. It was created in 2007 by a friend of a friend. I had mastered adding content, altho not adding images, however all went well until the end of 2010 when I was unable to add items to the news/diary. I found I could add 'news' if I dated it; day, month, 2000 but after a year or so in limbo I want to update the site as Ben has joined a new team.

You will understand any advice will need to be in the greatest detail and then some!
Thanks B

Upgrade to the latest version, maybe to 1.9.4.3 if you use lots of other modules, if you just use ones found in a default install go with 1.10...

This was a problem with older versions of CMSMS now fixed...

Thanks for the info. My version is CMS 1.0.2 "Maui" so I suppose that counts as an old one but any help is useful!

Try searching news date, it is posted somewhere here how to extend the dates in News...

But really you should upgrade especially since you are using news in a version that is vulnerable to hacking thru the News module...
